Islam graduated from medical school in Egypt and subsequently matched into internal medicine at the University of Florida. He then completed Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology Fellowships there, and is currently a Vascular Diagnostic and Intervention fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and interventional cardiology. He has published extensively in the field of outcomes research related to coronary and peripheral vascular disease.

Nicholas is a plastic surgery resident at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Boston College and MD from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Prior to graduating medical school, he completed a one-year plastic surgery clinical research fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston MA. Nicholas is very passionate about medical education, and has been tutoring and mentoring students for over 12 years now.

Munique is a board-certified Harvard fellowship-trained plastic surgeon, who completed advanced training with experts in the field of aesthetic surgery. She specializes in cosmetic surgery and non-invasive procedures of the face, breast and body.

Munique received her medical degree with Magna Cum Laude distinction in Brazil. During her medical training, she completed numerous electives in universities across the United States and Canada. With her excellent academic record and medical licensing exams in the 99th percentile, she was selected to start her surgical training at the renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She then went on to complete a highly competitive integrated plastic surgery training at Northwell Health in New York.  During residency, Munique received extensive aesthetic surgery training from the leaders in cosmetic plastic surgery at the premier Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital (MEETH).

Born and raised in the northern part of Mexico, Jorge achieved his medical degree in Tecnologico de Monterrey (ITESM). Monterrey,NL. Mexico.

During his final year of school Jorge sought opportunities rotating in the United States and spent several months at Baylor and Harvard as a visiting medical student in medicine and plastic surgery rotations. He was subsequently accepted as a post-doctoral research fellow at Harvard Medical School. Towards the end of his 1.5 year fellowship, an opportunity came along to lead a new and exciting translational research in radiation therapy, adipose tissue derived stem cells and wound healing at the University of Massachusetts. He transitioned as to being the head research fellow, spending an additional 2 years and decided to pursue training in the United States during his last year of research fellowship, taking licensing exams and ultimately matching into residency.

Anna Rose grew up in the Oceanport, New Jersey, and following her studies at Tufts University, pursued an MPH at the Rutgers School of Public Health. She then attended medical school at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. During her studies, she decided to take time off and spend an additional two years as a research fellow at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, where her topics of focus were primarily health literacy and lymphedema. She excelled as a prolific researcher with more than 20 publications to date and has since returned to complete her final year of medical school. Anna Rose will begin her residency training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Washington University in St. Louis.

David grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Duke University before embarking on his MD/PhD at Harvard Medical School. The teamwork and hands-on approach to problem solving in surgery had always piqued his interest. Collaborations with plastic surgeons during his PhD, exploring breast cancer genomics cemented his decision to become a plastic surgeon. He received over 35 interview invitations and matched into the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency Program at Washington University in St. Louis where he is now a PGY-2 resident. He is also a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Corps and looks forward to helping all applicants attain the best opportunity in pursuing residency here in the United States.

Qing’s circuitous journey through the field of Medicine has been nothing short of a bit of an adventure. He grew up in Singapore and acquired his Medical degree at University College London in the UK, subsequently spending time at Oxford University hospitals as a junior doctor. Over the next several years he garnered general surgery experience in surgical residencies at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston as well as Northwell Health in New York, further honing his research skills completing a clinical research fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In an interesting turn of events, the overall clinical exposure accumulated nudged him towards a vastly different clinical pathway – critical care and anesthesiology. He will now be starting as an anesthesiology resident at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School.

Austin grew up in the Bay Area in Northern California and following high school, moved to Taiwan to pursue his medical education at Kaohsiung Medical University. While there, he received a scholarship for a funded one month clinical rotation at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School. He then took time off to pursue his research interests there after being recruited as a research fellow, where he became senior research fellow and was integrally involved in over 30 projects. Following completion of his fellowship, Austin completed another clinical rotation at the Mayo Clinic and returned to Taiwan to complete his final year of medical school. Upon graduation, he received distinction as Best Surgical Intern and will be beginning his residency training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Mayo Clinic.

Alex is from the UK and received her medical degree from the University of Newcastle. After medical school, she completed her Foundation Years of training at Ealing Hospital and Chelsea & Westminster Healthcare NHS, followed by Core Surgical Training at Guys’ and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Subsequently, she took over as a senior research fellow in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, where she led over 25 research projects within the span of one year. After an additional year of plastic surgery training at St. Thomas Hospital, Alex was selected as the #1 plastic and reconstructive surgery applicant in the UK and is now a registrar at Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London.

During this time, he also obtained his PhD, and to date has contributed to over 100 publications, book chapters, oral and poster presentations. He subsequently completed a surgical internship at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School, received Plastic and Reconstructive surgery training at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, and completed a prestigious fellowship in Burn Surgery and Wound Care at Nassau University Medical Center under the supervision of the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, the oldest and largest private and academic plastic surgery practice in the United States. He furthered his education with an additional fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Clevens Face and Body Specialists, one of the nation’s top plastic surgery practices.

Karen acquired her degree in the UK, majoring in Journalism and Advertising, with over 6 years of solid experience in magazine, digital and event marketing across the UK and Hong Kong. She currently oversees all in-house marketing operations in the Asia Pacific region for a renowned global private equity analysis provider with its headquarter in London and multiple branches in the US, Hong Kong and Japan.
Karen believes that she could bring out the uniqueness of img-match’s mission to international medical graduates through her creativity and professionalism.

After graduating from Guangzhou Medical University, she caught a glimpse of what the rest of her life is going to look like through training at Sun Yat-sen University Hospital. She moved to New York City for graduate school and spent a few years with cell culture and mice in wet lab research at New York University and Northwell Health. Skilled with both clinical medicine and basic science experience, she matched into Anesthesia residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center of Harvard Medical School. Yao is happy with her training and life here in Boston, and is looking forward to an academic career in Cardiac Anesthesia.

Sam is an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Department of Surgery, Harvard Medical School and is a practicing plastic surgeon in Boston, Massachusetts. He is also Program Director of the integrated and independent plastic surgery residency programs, as well as Co-Director of the aesthetic fellowship at BIDMC Harvard Plastic Surgery. Nitin was born in India but spent most of his life growing up in the suburbs of Chicago. He then went back to India after high school to pursue his medical career. In his 3rd year of medical school, he realized he wanted to pursue general surgery training back in the United States. After completing his boards and excelling on away rotations, he matched into a competitive preliminary general surgery residency position at Mayo Clinic. Subsequently, as a result of his outstanding performances, he then matched into Western Michigan University as a categorical general surgery resident.
